Refinishing A Door
ON-SITE WE COME TO YOU , ONE DAY PROCESS Less Then 4/5 Hours In Normal Weather Condition .!!
1 *First we'll remove your door from its hinges. Then the door will be taken to the sidewalk/street to keep any dust from sanding and smell from paints and varnishes away from your home. We will install a heavy duty plastic on your entire way ,sealed tight all the way around to insure no insects or debris enter your home.
2 * We begin applying a chemical stripper to your door. The chemical stripper will not cause damage to your door. The chemical strip will remove any old varnish that has been damaged by the sun, or weather damage. it's important to make sure your door is stripped down to the bare wood before your refinish it. You never want to refinish on top of wood that is already damaged. The only way to strip your door down to the bare wood is through chemical stripping. any company that says they can refinish your door without chemical stripping is completely wrong and you'll end up spending more money and time to have your door re-restored.
3 * Once we remove the old varnish we will wash your door to remove any residue left behind by the chemical strip. We'll then allow your door to dry and in the mean time we are checking the door for any loose trim, cracks/dents , any loose trim will be repaired. Any cracks or dents will be repaired. (( WILL CHECK YOUR BOTTOM WEATHER STRIP ))
4* Now we have inspected the door ,cracks and dents have been putty, and the process of sanding begins .Now by beginning to sand the door we will be using a sand paper that is 180 - 220 grit by using a 1500 grit. By sanding the door as thoroughly as possible to insure a new and smooth finish.
5 * The door is ready for the stain , we will ask YOU if you would like to change the stain or match it to the original stain .We carry many times of stain in our vehicle's .Stain has been chosen ,and is being applied .3 to 4 coats will be applied and insuring that your door will be even in unform all through the entire door .
6 * Beginning to apply 4 coats of Marine Spar varnish Maximum UV/ protection . This material is the same one that is used on boats , it contains a high level of UV protection. To stay protected for the elements for many years to come .
[ - Don't Be Fooled By Companies That Use Helmsman Spar Varnish . It doesn't last long at all , tried it in the past and was a big mistake wont ever use it again . - ]
7 * Now we will install your door back up and make sure that your door is leveled and correct hanging on its hinges .
And then will begin to install your hardware . And then we will check your door the proper way , closes and locks the proper way.
Now you got a door that looks AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL DOOR .!!
